Frequently Asked Questions

What is a shaken espresso?

A shaken espresso is like an iced coffee, but in this case, the espresso is shaken over ice so it’s creamy and frothy. In Italy, it’s known as a Shakerato, and it doesn’t typically contain milk or cream.

In this version, the Starbucks shaken espresso is usually sweetened and has milk poured over the top.

How many pumps are in iced shaken espresso?

When you order this at Starbucks, you’ll usually get four pumps of syrup.

What is the difference between shaken espresso and iced latte?

The shaken espresso is served over ice, just like an iced latte. But there’s a lot less milk in this drink compared to the latte, which has about two parts milk to one part coffee.

Is shaken espresso stronger than cold brew?

Cold brew is generally stronger than espresso because the coffee brews for upwards of 12 hours hours.
