Dos Hombres Mezcal Recipes

These Dos Hombres mezcal recipes are just what you need if you find the spirit a little too strong on its own. From Negroni’s to a fun Mezcal Sour, there’s something for everyone here.

Dos Hombres mezcal is the brain child of Breaking Bad faves Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston.

It’s become hugely popular since it launched in the summer of 2019, winning a bunch of awards, including “Berlin Meazcal of The Year.”

Dos Hombres Negroni

Negronis are typically quite simple with bitter notes and a sweet finish. Usually made with gin, sweet vermouth, and Campari, it has a wonderful burnt orange hue.

Here’s what you’ll need to make this mezcal twist:

  • 3 ounces of Dos Hombres Mezcal
  • 2 Burnt Orange Peels
  • 1/2 ounce of Simple Syrup
  • 2 ounces of Campari
  • 1 pinch of Cayenne Pepper
  • 1-1/2 ounces of Sweet Vermouth

How to make a Dos Hombres Negroni:

  1. Add the mezcal, simple syrup, Campari, cayenne, and sweet vermouth to a cocktail shaker with ice. 
  2. Shake for 20 seconds and strain into two glasses with ice
  3. Using a sharp knife, cut a chunk of orange peel, with a very small amount of white pith.
  4. Strike a match, then carefully run the flame over the surface of the orange peel. Discard the match.
  5. Strike a second match and hold it over the drink. Bring the orange peel over the flame and squeeze to express the oils. It may flame, which is normal.
  6. Run the orange around the rim of the glasses, give it a twist, and add it to the drinks as garnish.
  7. Serve and enjoy!

Skinny Dos Hombres ​​Mango Jalapeño Margarita

If you love spicy margaritas, you’ll swoon over this super simple mezcal margarita recipe.

It’s clean, easy, and ideal for summer!

Here’s what you’ll need to make a skinny mezcal margarita:

  • 4 ounces of Dos Hombres Mezcal
  • 1 ounce of Jalapeño Simple Syrup (heat 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar, 4 chopped jalapeños until sugar dissolves. Cool and store in an airtight container in the fridge)
  • 2 ounces of Fresh Lime Juice
  • 4 ounces of Mango Puree
  • Splash of Club Soda or Citrus Soda (optional)
  • 4-6 slices of Jalapeño

How to make a skinny Dos Hombres mango margarita:

  1. Add the mezcal, simple syrup, lime juice, and mango puree to a cocktail shaker with ice. 
  2. Shake for 20 seconds and strain into two glasses with ice. 
  3. Top up with club soda or citrus soda, if using, and garnish with jalapeño slices. 
  4. Serve and enjoy!

Dos Hombres Mexican Mule

If you’ve ever tried a Moscow Mule, or a Dark and Stormy, you’ll know it’s a wonderful blend of ginger beer, lime juice, and either vodka or dark rum.

I’m a huge fan of the Dark and Stormy! I love the heat of the ginger against the zippy lime and dark, sweet rum.

But this might just be my new fave! The mezcal adds such a wonderful taste, and I think you’ll love it.

Here’s what you’ll need to make a Mezcal Mule:

  • 4 ounces of Dos Hombres Mezcal
  • 2 ounces of Fresh Lime Juice
  • 8 ounces of Ginger Beer (you can also use Ginger Ale, but then I would add an extra 2 ounces of Mezcal)

How to make a Mezcal Mule:

  1. Add the lime juice and mezcal to a glass over ice. 
  2. Pour the ginger beer over the top and garnish with a lime wedge.
  3. Serve and enjoy!

Dos Hombres Mezcal Margarita

I know we already talked about margaritas, but they’re my summer go-to so I just had to include another! And this one is for the classic margarita fans who like it loaded with lime and booze!

Here’s what you’ll need to make a classic Mezcal Margarita:

  • 4 ounces of Dos Hombres Mezcal
  • 1 ounce of Agave or Simple Syrup
  • 2 ounces of fresh Lime Juice
  • 2 ounces of Cointreau
  • Salt or Tajin and Lime Wedge for garnish

How to make a Mezcal Margarita:

  1. Run the lime around the rims of two glasses and dip the tops in salt or Tajin. Set aside. 
  2. Add the mezcal, sweetener, lime juice, and Cointreau to a cocktail shaker with ice. 
  3. Shake for 20 seconds and strain into two glasses with ice. 
  4. Add the lime wedge for garnish. 
  5. Serve and enjoy!
