Cardamom Cocktail

If you like your drinks with a kick of spice, you love this cardamom cocktail.

It’s super complex with just a hint of nutty sweetness, thanks to the Amaretto. Meanwhile, the cardamom is warm, citrusy, and quite herbal.

If you use too much, it can be overpowering. But when you add sweet vanilla and buttery pears to the mix? It’s downright delicious!

East Cardamom Cocktail Recipe

Get ready for a captivating symphony of flavors because this Cardamom Cocktail offers a perfect balance of sweet, creamy, and subtly spicy notes.

You’ll also go nuts for the lush sweetness of pear, and the soothing creaminess of milk.

It’s a cocktail that dances on the tongue, inviting sip after enchanting sip.

Cardamom Simple Syrup

Simple syrup is a quick mix of equal parts sugar and water.

You mix them in a pot and heat until the sugar dissolves. Then, let it cool and keep it in the fridge.

You can use simple syrup in coffees, iced drinks, smoothies, and cocktails because the liquid mixes easier than granulated sugar.

And it’s a terrific way to add flavor to your recipes!

My pumpkin spice syrup is a must-make in the fall for my fellow PSL lovers. But this cardamom syrup might just be better!

It’s sweet, floral, and perfect for cocktail lovers. So make a batch and keep it in the fridge.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of Water
  • 1 cup of Granulated Sugar
  • 10 Green Cardamom Pods

Method:

  1. Gently crush the cardamom pods with the back of a chef’s knife or in a mortar and pestle. They don’t need to be pulverized - just crush them to open them up and release the flavor.
  2. Add the water and sugar to a medium pot with tall sides. Gently stir to saturate the sugar, then add the crushed cardamom pods.
  3. Turn the heat to low-medium and bring the water to a gentle simmer.
  4. Cook until the sugar is dissolved, then reduce the heat to low and leave it to simmer for about 10 minutes. This will thicken the mix and let the cardamom infuse.
  5. Take the pot off the heat and leave it to cool.
  6. Strain the syrup into a glass bottle with an airtight container, add a date, then keep it in the fridge for up to a month.

Recipe Variations

If you’re intrigued by this drink, why not try one of these fun variations? Some keep the cardamom, others swap it out. But they’re all super yummy!

1. Spiced Apple Cardamom Cocktail - Swap out the pear for a sweet apple if you want a delightful fall twist. You could also add a pinch of cinnamon for an extra layer of warmth.

2. Chocolate Pear Cocktail- Add a tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder and be sure to blend the mixture well. It might sound strange, but the chocolate, pear, and cardamom mix is to die for.

3. Pear Ginger Cocktail - Swap the cardamom for ground ginger, making it a touch spicier.

4. Nutty Pear Cardamom Cocktail- Use hazelnut liqueur, like Frangelico, instead of Amaretto. This gives the cocktail a deliciously nutty flavor that pairs perfectly with the pear and cardamom.

5. Coconut Pear Cocktail-Swap the milk with coconut milk for a tropical twist. You can also replace the vanilla vodka with Malibu (coconut rum) for an even stronger coconut flavor.
